Reach A Regulator

Find your regulator

Almost every company is licensed or overseen by a government agency, and that agency takes complaints from customers for free. The hard part is knowing which one. That's this.

Find the regulator for your problem

Two questions, about ten seconds. Then you get a direct link to the right complaint form.

Step 1 of 2 · What's your problem with?

A few things worth knowing

  • Pick the state where the problem happened if that's different from where you live — for insurance, that's usually the state on the policy.
  • You can file with more than one agency. Nothing stops you from complaining to both a state regulator and a federal one, and for some disputes that's the right move.
  • If nothing fits, choose "Something else." Your state Attorney General's consumer protection division is the catch-all, and it takes complaints about businesses of every kind.
